Velux Extensions Videos and Press Ads

VELUX are all about bringing more of the outside in and creating the best family living spaces. We needed to communicate this idea to our audience in the form of online films and press advertising to support their latest TV campaign.
In 2018, VELUX launched a TVC which focused on highlighting that people spend a lot of their time indoors in environments that often don’t have enough daylight or fresh air. But small, simple changes (i.e. bringing in daylight and fresh air through the roof) can improve your home and your ‘indoor life’. It positions VELUX as providing ‘Solutions for the Indoor Generation’ – a campaign line which sat front and centre at the beginning of the TV ad.
We were tasked with delivering a suite of digital assets to support the TV campaign. So we created short videos for online and social featuring home-improvement presenter and influencer, Charlie Luxton. I was the Art Director on the shoot and I travelled with the agency team and a film crew down to Hove to film Charlie in a newly built extension to demonstrate the difference the roof windows made to the overall feeling of the house. They really did ‘transform the home with daylight’!
We then needed to create master press executions, again weaving in the proposition and key messages in order to create synergy with the film messaging. I looked at standard and more creative print formats to showcase spaces filled with daylight and fresh air which look and feel much nicer to spend time in. We also had to ultimately guide our audience to search and find out more about VELUX extensions.
